About Us

CS Ling has been serving in the insurance industry for over five decades. He started his insurance career with Jardine Matheson & Co. Ltd. in their Insurance Department. After gaining a broad knowledge of non-life general insurance, he joined AIU Ltd. and was responsible for all its branch operations.

In 1973, Ling was approached by British Inchcape Group to set up the first professional reinsurance company registered in Hong Kong namely Hong Kong Reinsurance Co. Ltd. and was appointed as Director and General Manager. After 10 years of service, he resigned to pursue his desire to run his own business. In 1981, he founded Asia Security Reinsurance Agency Company Limited ("ASRA") as the sole underwriting agency for and on behalf of The Toa Reinsurance Company, Limited (“Toa Re”). Toa Re purchased the entire share capital to take over ASRA in 1997, and  Ling remained as Chairman until his retirement in 1999.

Despite being retired, Ling has maintained his friendships and connections with business associates in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia throughout the years and is now looking after his various business interests including Regional Insurance. Ling is also playing an important role in the operations of Regional Insurance as a strategic adviser.
